CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

Make sure to hold the front wiper arm while lifting it, as lifting the front wiper arm by the front wiper blade may damage or deform the front wiper blade.

HINT:

• The following procedure is for the LH side.
• Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE FRONT WIPER BLADE LH

(1) With the power switch on (IG), turn the power switch off.

(2) Within 42 seconds of turning the power switch off, operate and hold the windshield wiper switch assembly MIST function for 2 seconds.

(3) Check that the front wiper stops in the upper reverse position.

(1) Pull up the holder of the front wiper blade LH as shown in the illustration.

(2) Remove the front wiper blade LH from the front wiper arm as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

Place a piece of cloth between the front wiper arm and windshield glass to avoid damaging the windshield glass.

2. REMOVE WIPER RUBBER LH

NOTICE:

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL BACKING PLATE

Install in this Direction

(1) Install the 2 front wiper rubber backing plates to the wiper rubber as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

• Align the protrusions on the wiper rubber and the notches of the backing plates.
• Align the curves of the backing plates and the windshield glass.

2. INSTALL WIPER RUBBER LH

Install in this Direction

(1) Install the wiper rubber with the front wiper rubber backing plates to the front wiper blade as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

Push the wiper rubber RH and front wiper backing plates into the front wiper blade RH strongly to engage them securely.

3. INSTALL FRONT WIPER BLADE LH

(1) Install the front wiper blade to the front wiper arm as shown in the illustration.

(2) Rotate the holder of the front wiper blade as shown in the illustration.

(1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(2) Operate the wiper switch to the MIST direction.

NOTICE:

• Check that the front wiper arm LH is not in the locked back position.
• If the front wiper arm LH is operated while left in the locked back position, the vehicle may be damaged.
