PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DRIVE MODE SWITCH)

(a) for Push Switch Type:

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition	Result
11 (DRV) - 7 (E)	Pressed	Below 50 Ω	Ω
11 (DRV) - 7 (E)	Not pressed	10 kΩ or higher	kΩ

If the result is not as specified, replace the electric parking brake switch assembly.

(b) except Push Switch Type:

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

12 (DMS-) - 7 (E)	Pushed and held at "DRIVE -" side	Below 50 Ω	Ω
12 (DMS-) - 7 (E)	Released (neutral position)	10 kΩ or higher	kΩ

If the result is not as specified, replace the electric parking brake switch assembly.

2. INSPECT ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ILLUMINATION)

(a) Apply auxiliary battery voltage between the terminals of the switch and check the illumination condition of the electric parking brake switch assembly.

Standard:

Measurement Condition	Specified Condition
Auxiliary battery positive ( ) → 10 (ILL )	Illuminates
Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 14 (ILL-)	Illuminates
