Removal

REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) removal/installation are shown below.

NOTICE:

After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

HINT:

When the cable is disconnected/reconnected to the auxiliary battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

    Drive the Toyota Prius vehicle straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more for 5 second or more.

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:

  • If the junction block bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it.
  • Do not bend the 2 claws more than necessary.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

NOTICE:

  • Make sure that the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is securely installed.
  • If the junction block bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it.
  • Do not bend the 2 claws more than necessary.

2. INSTALL JUNCTION BLOCK BRACKET

8.0 N·m {82 kgf·cm, 71 in·lbf}

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

HINT:
